Came another spider

The day died a few hours ago, the evening started, the night waiting around the corner and within it the promise for a new day.

Dying day

An hour or two ago I made a short walk and collected some flowers with the intention to use them to make some macro shots.
The first flower contained a surprise as there was a very small spider hiding in it. I spend most of my time trying to make some interesting photographs but I feel I haven’t really succeeded.

I’m sharing them anyway.

Little A. came by; she needed some help for upcoming schoolwork.
And later on Big A. visited me, accompanied by her boyfriend, a very nice guy. They had spent the day in Antwerp but my first-born was ill, stomach troubles and she feared she had eaten something that was contaminated by wheat. She suffers from gluten intolerance.
I felt so sorry for her but unfortunately I can’t take her pain away.

I’m listening to my favorite playlist, a mix of rock, jazz, experimental, blues, pop and so on. No classic shit though, I don’t relate to it, well, except for a few compositions maybe.

Princess took her kids to the movies this evening, we phoned a few hours ago, just before she left.

I miss her very much but it is of course important that she spends time with her kids.
The past few weeks lots of her time has been consumed by Stella and Princess spends a lot of time with me too.
It is normal her kids complain and ask for some quality time with their mother.

Yet, I miss Princess and I wish I could hold her in my arms and travel through the night with her.
Sharing our dreams.
Holding her.
Starting the new day by whispering good morning and drown in her beautiful eyes.

Princess, I love you so much.

Yellow. Dandelion.

It has been another stressful day at work and I’m still helping the Service Desk. Hell, being able to understand and speak several languages has its disadvantages.

Yet it is a challenge, taking the phone and speaking Dutch and the next call is in French, and then Dutch again, then English.

I didn’t go straight home this afternoon but parked near the woods and went for a walk. There is nobody waiting for me at home so who the fuck cares when I arrive at my apartment?

Sun was shining and there was a cool breeze and I was surrounded with a zillion signs of birth on thousands of branches ready to bloom.

I observed a heron, carefully wading through a pond, vigilant, then a sudden move and some silvery thing moving in its beak.

Older men jogging, breathing heavily and on their way to a certain heart attack, leaving behind the quickly dissipating odor of sweat and cheap cologne.

I made some images, nothing special, I just wanted to clear my mind, unwind.

Happy Easter!

It is freezing cold outside and temperatures won’t exceed 5° (41 F). In an hour or so I’ll be leaving on weekend with Little A.
Destination is Durbuy, a small Walloon city, Belgium’s smallest city in fact, in the province of Luxembourg were I reserved in a Bread & Breakfast. We will be back tomorrow in the late afternoon and I am sure we will enjoy ourselves. It is the first time my youngest daughter spends Easter with me since the 6 years I now live alone.

She is of course also looking forward to these special moments with me.

I hope the vague feeling of uneasiness that is spinning in my head since a day or two will dissolve quickly.
It feels like something bad is lurking around the corner, an unpleasant surprise, something that will destabilize me very much.

What happens will happen, there is nothing much I can do about it I guess.

You by Princess

I want to climb mountains and
Go boating on the deepest oceans
With you, my love.

I want to fly to the Far East
And ride on elephants.
To travel to Cologne,
Paris and,
Even better,
Travel the world.
With you, my love.

Can you see me?
Can you feel me?
Can you hear my breath?
Are you real or
Am I just dreaming you?

I want to feel you
My love.
Make my skin burn.
Let my lips crave.
Feed my desire.
Only then I’m sure
You and I exist
For real.

Let the world perish.
As long as I have you
I don’t give a damn.

Poles at Sangatte, France

Once again the Opal Coast in France.

This image was made with a relative long shutter speed during high tide so the movement of the water seems more like mist.

I added several textures to this image to create exactly what I had in mind when I was standing there, waiting for my camera to finish the exposure.
That evening, like most of the time before Princess finally came in my life, I was feeling blue and alone. Craving for romantics, for love, for meaning something in the life of another human being. Desperately wanting to make someone special happy. Little did I know, then, it would include cuffs, crops and whips.

I am so grateful she came into my life, my Princess.
She has made all the difference.
